Lichti’s began with a simple need and a lot of determination. In 1965, when color TV was just in its infancy, they decided that Bruning needed a TV repair and sales store. When Max was 19 years old and only had $250.00 to his name, they opened their doors for the first time in May of 1965. In 1967, Sandra Roesler and Max got married. As a teacher, Sandra supported them for the next 3 years as Max didn’t take a paycheck.
Over the decades, Lichti’s grew through grit and a commitment to "fixing the problem". After moving to Geneva in 1966 and eventually expanding to York in 1982, the business survived economic downturns in the 80’s. Darin Lichti joined the family business in 1993. Even a devastating fire in 2006 could not stop Lichti’s from serving the public — they even opened a temporary location just 24 hours after the blaze.
Today, we have expanded to house over 250 appliances and over 100 recliners and sofas in our current location.

Our Staff
Lichti’s has been a family-owned and operated business for 60 years now. The staff here is focused on helping the customers find the right appliances to fit their lifestyle, not the fanciest one. When asked why he still came to work every morning, Max said, “The caring and knowledgeable staff that we have makes it a pleasure to come to work every morning. I also enjoy helping customers pick out the right appliances for them and fixing their problems.”
